Welcome to the Stamp It Summer – Patriotic Blog Hop
I decided I would try my hand at the blending technique using the Stampin Blend alcohol based markers and 91% alcohol on vellum. I’ve seen several posts that people can not find this high of percentage. You can find the 91% alcohol at Target or try a local pharmacy.
Using Real Red and Night of Navy in the darks, I scribbled blocked sections leaving empty or white space. Obviously there is no white blend so you have to create the illusion. I can be somewhat challenged with techniques so it took a few variations of using two colors to create red, white and blue while being happy with it and not making grape 😂😂 We are our own worst critics at times aren’t we!
It was never my intention to emboss the word friend. I poured the loose embossing powder off towards the bottom instead of off to the side. Surprisingly, my ink was still wet enough to pick up the embossing powder, so I went with it. I placed upon the Pacific Blue Card base.
As a result, my future attempt will be to make my vellum layer smaller and add a Basic Black layer to help the vellum layer pop.

Love that coloring the colors are so bright and perfect for summer
Great job on the alcohol blending with the red and blue and not making purple! I’m impressed! I’ve tried this technique and sometimes the inks have a mind of their own.
Like the “happy accident” too. 🙂 Good suggestion for including a black layer. #stampitcontest
